FluteFlutes made out of wood are known to have existed for centuries in ancient civilizations all over the world - from Africa to Hawaii, from Europe to the Andes Mountains of South America. The natural (almost spiritual) tone produced by a flute soothes the human heart like no other musical instrument. In 1847 German inventor Theobald Boehm designed the modern flute which is made of beautiful sparkling silver and other precious metals. Mr. Boehm's improvements included adding all the keys necessary to play our modern scales. The flute is played by holding it up high to the right side and blowing a controlled stream of air across and into the mouthpiece. After blowing out it is important to remember to breath back in deeply so that you do not get dizzy!

michael-jackson
Deemed as the ‘King of Pop’ and considered to be one of most successful and popular musicians, Michael Jackson is a thorough entertainer. Plagued by controversies in his personal life and getting commercial success with every album he made, Michael Jackson gave a new meaning to the adage 'been there, done that’. He has been in show-business ever since he was kid and has always portrayed exceptional musical abilities. During the prime of his career, he reached incredible heights and got success and in fact holds eight Guinness World Records, thirteen Grammy Awards, thirteen Number One singles in his solo career and sale of over 750 million units worldwide. Michael Jackson is one of those rare artists to have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. Check out his childhood and career profile in this biography.
Childhood and Early Years
Michael Jackson was born Michael Joseph Jackson on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. His father Joseph Walter was an employee at a steel factory and mother Katherine was Jehovah's Witness and raised her kids in that faith. Michael was the seventh of nine children and had 5 brothers and 4 sisters. As a young kid of 5, he performed a Christmas recital in his school and was applauded for his voice. When he was 11 years old, he joined the band his brothers had formed and soon got to sing lead vocals. The band was called ‘The Jackson 5’ and released a number of singles before being signed by Motown Records label in 1968. The young Jackson was described as a child prodigy by the Rolling Stone as he used to sing famous numbers of Sam Cooke, James Brown, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder like a grown up.
The Jackson 5 set a record of sorts when their first four singles charted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. These songs were ‘I Want You Back’, ‘ABC’, ‘The Love You Save’, and ‘I'll Be There’. In the year 1978, Michael Jackson portrayed the role of the Scarecrow in the movie adaptation of the Broadway Musical, ‘The Wiz’. The songs were arranged by Quincy Jones who agreed to produce Jackson’s following solo album. The first album in the history of music to have four Top 10 hits was ‘Off the Wall’ in the year 1979. The album was jointly produced by Jackson and Quincy Jones, and the music was composed by various artists like Heatwave's Rod Temperton, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney. The album sold over 15 million copies all over the world. A star had been launched and he was about to shine even more brightly!

Due to popular demand, I have compiled a list of suggested beginner guitars, and amplifiers on this page. Links on where to purchase these guitars is also provided. The links take you to a site with more information about the product.
First, I must point out that acoustic guitars and electric guitars are tuned and played the same way. You can learn on either guitar. I suggest that you purchase the one that your favorite guitarists play. You'll be most interested in the guitar if it is used in your favorite styles.

Below is a table of the most popular guitars and a beginner model that is similar (and much cheaper). The guitars are cheaper because of where the guitar was made and whether premium wood and parts were used. There is definitely value in the cheaper guitar market. In fact, I own two of the guitar suggestions below (Fender Standard Stratocaster and Epiphone Dot).
The Western concert flutes
The Western concert flute, a descendant of the 19th century "German flute," is a transverse flute which is closed at the top. Near the top is the embouchure hole, against which the player blows. The flute has circular finger-holes, various combinations of which can be opened or closed by the flautist, by means of a mechanism of keys, to produce the various notes in the flute's playing range. The note produced depends on which finger-holes are opened or closed by the flautist and on how the flute is blown by the flautist. There are two kinds of footjoints for the concert flute: a C Foot shown is the picture above or the B Foot which has an extra hole to make the flute's range go to a low B. With rare exceptions (i.e., flutes with custom-made fingering-systems), the Boehm system is the fingering-system in correspondence with which Western concert flutes are designed and manufactured.
The standard concert flute is pitched in C and has a range of 3 octaves starting from middle C. However, many professional flutes have an extra key to reach the B directly below middle C. This means that the concert flute is one of the highest orchestral instruments, with only the piccolo being higher. Also commonly used in orchestras is the piccolo, a small flute usually pitched one octave above the concert flute. Alto and bass flutes, respectively pitched a perfect fourth and an octave below the concert flute, are used occasionally. Parts for the alto flute are more common than for the bass. Many other sizes of flute and piccolo are used from time to time. Alto and bass flutes are heavier than the normal C flute, so some people find them more difficult to play for longer periods of time. A much-less common instrument of the current pitching system is the treble G flute. An older pitching system, used principally in older wind-band music, includes D-flat piccolos, E-flat soprano flutes (the primary instrument, equivalent to today's concert C flutes), F alto flutes, and B-flat bass flutes.
The modern professional concert flute is generally made of silver, gold, or combinations of the two. Student instruments are usually made of nickel silver, or silver-plated brass. Curved headjoints are also available for student flutes which make the flute shorter making it possible for children as young as 3 years old to play the flute. Wooden flutes and headjoints are more widely available than in the past. Wooden flutes produce a warmer tone that is desireable to some people.
The modern concert flute comes with various options. The B-flat thumb key (invented and pioneered by Briccialdi) is practically standard. The B foot joint, however, is an optional extra available on middle-upper end models.
Open hole flutes, also called French flutes, (where some keys have a circular hole through the middle that the player must cover with fingertips) are common among concert-level players, though some flautists (particularly students, but sometimes even professional flutists as well) select closed-hole "plateau" keys. Students often use temporary plugs to cover the holes in the keys until they master the more exact finger-placement that open-hole keys demand. Some people believe that open-hole keys permit louder and clearer sound projection in the flute's lower range. Open-hole keys are also needed for some modern "extended" avant garde pieces, including those requiring the player to play harmonic overtones, or to manipulate "breathy" sounds in addition to the traditional "pure" tone.
Open-hole keys are typical of French technique, championed by the Paris Conservatoire. Another option is the amusingly named "gizmo key", which facilitates C7.
To play the Western concert flute, one holds the flute in a transverse position, and blows across the hole in the mouthpiece. To distinguish separate notes, one pushes down the keys of the flute in distinct fingerings. However, there are a few alternate fingerings (called trill fingerings) that will assist one in playing difficult passages.

Musical-Instruments
You can buy musical instruments at any number of places, but if you are looking for a cheap musical instrument, your options are a little bit more limited. Many people, when looking for a cheap musical instrument, make the mistake of either relying on their local store and skipping other sources all together, or else doing the exact opposite, and only looking at the instruments that are offered in their local music shop. Both of these approaches are really quite serious mistakes, if you ask me because you're missing the very biggest selection of new and used musical instruments, those available on eBay. Although you are less likely to find new cheap musical instruments in your local second-hand shop, they will often sell used ones for way below market value. The only disadvantage of buying on eBay is that you don't get the chance to play the instrument before buying it. However, these days many of the more respected sellers offer a money back guarantee and it might be worth looking out for this if you are considering buying from eBay. This is important, because many of the places that sell cheap used musical instruments do not offer money back guarantees but you can always ask if you can try the instrument before you commit to buying it. At a local music shop, by contrast, you can try out any cheap musical instruments that you pick up and make sure that they really are in good working order. And, as a bonus, should something break down after you buy musical instrument, you can always take it back in. They usually will be happy to help you, if not to refund your money completely.Of course, there are a whole lot of other places to look for cheap musical instruments, so unless you really find something that you fall completely in love with right off the bat, you should consider a number of options before making your purchase. This would simply be foolish to do, when there are thousands and thousands of sources for cheap musical instruments out there. If you are set on buying new, your best bet for musical instruments will probably be the Internet, and in particular, eBay. You see, you can almost always find stuff for less money if you are willing to get it mail order, and cheap musical instruments are no exception. The problem is, again, that if something does go wrong with your instrument, it will often be a big hassle to get any help with it. What the mail order companies do for you in price is canceled out by what they do not do for you in service, if you know what I mean. But they are worth a try.
